The Iwaya community, located in Lagos, Nigeria, is known as one of the prominent slums grappling with high disease prevalence, specifically malaria and typhoid cases. On World Health Day, the TESS Foundation Africa, in partnership with Xcene Research as the sponsor, organized a medical mission to the Iwaya community.
The primary objective of the medical intervention was to tackle the pressing health concerns among the Iwaya community, lessen the burden of these diseases, and enhance the general health of the community people. This intervention provided complimentary healthcare services, including consultations, medication, and screenings. Moreover, we consistently run awareness campaigns and distribute outreach materials to foster continued awareness and encourage healthier habits within the community.
